Retrogrades in 2026: Uranus

Merry Meet and Welcome to you magickal souls!!!!

It's time for another retrograde to start and this time, it's Uranus' turn to give us the optical illusion of moving backwards. Uranus will be retrograde in the sign of Gemini from 10th September 2026 until 8th February 2027.

Uranus is associated with transformation, breaking through old limits and frameworks. Some may even say this planet has a similar energy to Mercury but less personally and more generally since Uranus is one of the outer planets.

Typically, Uranus is associated with the sign of Aquarius, which is one of the signs associated with the element of Air, just as Gemini is. Since Gemini is the sign that Uranus will be moving through during this retrograde. There is a greater connection with this element because Gemini is also associated with Mercury. This increased association means that this could hit hard when it comes to communicating, seeing both sides of situations and people, and being curious enough to hear everything to discern the truth.

What is my theme for this retrograde?

Feminine Power, Beauty, Acceptance, Motherhood

With this card, I feel as if I'm being told I need to be more nurturing, more motherly, to others as well as to myself. A mother doesn't just look after the family as they also have to look after themselves or the family won't last.

There's also an element of accepting that I am beautiful alongside being surrounded by beauty. I can't marvel and wonder at how beautiful the world is around me without applying the same logic to myself since I am a part of the world.

Perhaps I can combine the two to accept myself as beautiful and also nurture that concept within myself.

What limiting routine do I need to break free from?

Devotion, Romance, Heroism, Chivalry

With this card, it's a little harder but I think the message is that I need to give up the idea that real life is as romantic as it is in books. Yes, there are biographical books which are romantic but most of the books I have read that contain romance are not realistic. I know that fantasy is not real so breaking this would be a challenge.

It could be that I have been waiting too long for someone else to come and save me, for them to be a hero when I'm actually capable of doing the job myself. So losing the limitation of wanting to be the damsel-in-distress saved by a hero is definitely something for me to work on.

How can I better connect with my inner rebel?

The Lady of the Lake

The Goddess, Otherworld, Mystery, Self-Knowledge

With this card, I believe it is saying that I can better connect with my inner rebel by getting to know myself better.

The Lady of the Lake is full of mystery as there are many different versions of her depending on which version is being referred to. This is something that also applies to me because I am different depending on who I am interacting with. But I have also been different people at various points in my life.

I am interested in connecting with at least one goddess but I am never sure who exactly so this may be encouragement.

How will this impact my life?

Sexuality, Love, Feminine Power, Beauty

With this card, I feel as if there is a possibility that I can discover my own beauty, a true sense of love for life, and a renewed sense of my own power.

It could be that I end up wearing clothing that is more feminine (I live in t-shirts and leggings most days).

It could also mean that I discover the power I have just as I am without needing to change anything about what I wear or what I do.

I know I am surrounded by beauty but accepting a compliment where I am part of that is still an uncomfortable experience for me so this could be what ends up changing.

This certainly looks like it's going to be an interesting Uranus retrograde for me and I'm looking forward to the personal work that is on the horizon. I'm always willing to continue learning about myself and what I could achieve.
