Prophecy 2026: Part Four

Merry Meet and Welcome to you magickal souls!!!!
It's time to look back and reflect on the last three months of July, August and Setember. I've tried to keep a habit of reviewing each month's cards at the end of each month or as close as possible to it.

July Energy
10 of Staffs Reversed
When I first pulled this card, I initially wrote down that I might feel like I hadn't achieved a goal and that I might actually be moving backwards. Or that an unexpected goal might have been achieved that wasn't my original intention.
And now that July has passed, I do feel as if I have made some progress, even if it's not what I thought I'd have done by now. I've been on a learning journey with my health issues and this is where some progress has come.
My weightloss journey is where I would agree that I have gone backwards as I gained more weight than I lost in July. However, my weight is affected by the temperature so when it's really hot, I tend to gain rather than lose but I know that I will lose as the temperatures drop in the approach to Winter.

July Resources
9 of Cups
To go with the seemingly not so positive 10 of Staffs reversed, the 9 of Cups showed up as my resources for July.
With this card, I initially noted that I could still be proud of the goals I had already achieved, and I absolutely am proud of where I am now.
I took the time this month to reflect on who I am, where I am in my life, and what I have done. Almost like setting out the Cups to see what drinks they hold, I did this with my own personal achievements and the lessons I have learned along the way. I will admit to being pleasantly surprised by what I can do but also by what may yet be possible, even if others may not be.
It's interesting that I used this month to reflect and review my life as it ends with Lughnasadh, the first harvest celebration.

August Energy
The Fool Reversed
With this card, I initially thought it was telling me that August wouldn't be the time for me to start something new. That I needed to stay put because exploration meant risk. That my desire for excitement might outweigh common sense, meaning I would be reckless.
But after living through August, I feel as if this card was saying that I needed to be willing to ask questions rather than trust blindly that the path forward would appear magically.
I learned that even though I desired to make progress with my health, this wasn't the month where I would find answers or forward movement.
The Fool doesn't question, he just trusts, rather like Frodo trusts Sam and Smeagol to be their best selves. But when reversed, questions should be welcomed.

August Resources
4 of Staffs, 4 of Cups & 8 of Staffs
With the 4 of Staffs, I thought it was about needing to build a foundation, of celebrating, but also about resting.
I wanted to build my life on a solid foundation and was trying to make that happen but I didn't feel like I could relax, let alone celebrate anything. Perhaps it was the effects of an unseasonably hot summer mixed with trying to find a new medication that worked but which I could also take without adding extra health issues into the situation. I still don't have answers or any kind of foundation for my health. However, I was presented with a new opportunity to rebuild my magickal practice. I've missed doing magick and spells, but I knew I needed a break so to return to it is like coming home to myself. I can celebrate this and finding a new community to share things with.
With the 4 of Cups, I initially felt like it was telling me to be patient while also not settling for less than, especially when it came to things I was passionate about. I felt like this card was saying that my heart, dreams and instincts should guide me. I will be honest and say that I was passionate about my health and being heard, because I had little to no patience left after 4 months of what felt like nothing. I am still trying to trust in my own instincts but I'm open to trying new "drinks" that could be part of the foundation I have been trying to build. I am trying to practice patience but it's hard when you've been worn down over four consecutive months. I have refused to settle with my health or accept that until my old medication is back in stock, I have to suffer until I see a specialist (which is still another 3 months away) and they can potentially offer solutions that might not even be feasible. This is what my 4 of Cups has taught me.
With the 8 of Staffs, I initially thought it was about being cautious to achieve my goals, taking breaks from things so that I could assess what had happened and what to do next. Something from my memory stands out from the books: "Short cuts make long delays", which means what it says. That trying to take a quicker or easier route may actually make life more difficult in the long-run. I will admit that taking breaks is not something I am used to but purely because of what my body has told me it needs, I have started to learn how to take breaks without feeling guilty for needing to do so. Some of my cross-stitch projects have barely made any progress but they're there for when I'm ready for them. I don't write anymore unless I feel capable of it but even when I do need a break, I have learned to take one.

September Energy
6 of Swords
When I initially pulled this card, I made notes about how the energy for this month would be surrounding letting go of bad memories, that there might be a meaningful bend in the road ahead but that moving ahead would not be possible without letting go of the past. I also got the feeling that this card was about forgiving grudges, removing reminders of difficult times and lightening my emotional load.
Honestly, pretty much all of this was covered in September. I twas one heck of a roller-coaster month energetically. I had a bend in the road when it came to treating my migraines but I'm being as positive as possible about it.
This card felt encouraging, so I am definitely working on healing from events in my past so that I can live a lighter emotional life.

September Resources
Death
With this card, it was definitely interesting because what's shown is the immediate consequences of the Ring being destroyed: Mount Doom acting like a volcano and preparing to erupt at long last.
But when a volcano erupts, it means that what came before was at an end and life would be very different afterwards. That's what the Death card in tarot is about: change, transition, release and letting go, as well as making way for new things.
That's exactly how September was, even if I didn't want to admit to my old life having ended and a different version of life beginning. Honestly, I do miss my old life and how things used to be but change is a necessary part of life and I choose to hold onto this idea because of the seasons and how nature is constantly changing. I may not always like or enjoy it but I deal with it.
Well, that's how the last 3 months have been for me: an emotional rollercoaster that led me to the knowledge that my old life is unlikely to return in the form it had but that I could be on the way towards a different future.
It's getting close to me looking forward to the next iteration of this workshop and pulling cards for 2027, wile reviewing the three months that remain of 2026.
I hope this inspires you to consider working with Wise Woman Witchery in the future, especially when there is a new community space that involves getting a magickal patch each month in the mail!
Peace and love to all
