New Moon in Pisces 2025

Merry Meet and Welcome to you magickal souls!!!!

It's time to start thinking about the New Moon in Pisces which reaches peak/strongest energy around 28th Feruary 2025 while the Sun is making its way through the astrological sign of Pisces.

Pisces is ruled by Neptune, who is both planet and God. As a planet, Neptune is associated with inspiration and dreams, while He is God of the Sea to the ancient Romans. Whether planet or God, Neptune is connected to the element of Water, something which is magnified thrice-over by Pisces being a Water sign and the Moon being associated with this element too.

So our emotions are likely to be highly charged at this time, with a lot more energy behind them. If we are passionate about our dreams and life-visions, then they will also be energised and we might even feel more inspired than usual with both the mundane and magickal actions we can take to achieve our dreams.

However, Pisces is the final zodiac sign before the wheel turns and we start all over again from Aries, which makes this time a sort of transitional ending. While many might believe that we shouldn't be thinking about what we can begin doing, or even a time to get anything started, we can still do this if it feels right to us. This Piscean time is perfect for preparing for a new start, just like we do in the Winter before Spring.

So if our preparations take the form of actions that move us towards our dreams, don't worry too much. Preparations can look differently for each individual person and each individual dream, like reviewing what has happened in the last 12 months through the traditional and zodiac calendars. While this particular New Moon occurs two months into the year, we can review the events of these two months to see if we are still on track to achieve our dreams or if we need to find out how to get back on track.

We need to trust in our lives, in our dreams. If we aren't sure what our dreams are, we can always journal about it, spend time thinking about what we enjoy doing, what lights a fire in our hearts and souls. We can even spend time considering more than just the last 12 months to see just how much guidance we have received and followed as well as the signs we might have missed.

What do we most need to learn and incorporate into our lives from reviewing the last 2-12 months?

Watchtower of the East - Spring

With this card, the message is that we need to re-energise our dreams and lives.

The season of Spring is all about new beginnings, new life, and a new start. That's why there's an undercurrent of being able to start again if we need to.

Spring is also associated with the element of Air (which is associated with the direction of East). Air is all about communication and thoughts so the message could be that we need to communicate that this is what we want to achieve but we need to be clear about it. Without clarity, our dreams cannot be made real.

How can we harness this dreamy and watery energy to inspire our dreams and actions?

Familiar - Guardian

A lot of magickal practitioners will say that a Familiar is a spirit whose sole purpose is to protect and that it cannot have a physical body so it cannot be a cat, dog or other pet that shows an interest in the Craft.

So if we take that a Familiar is supposed to protect or guard the practitioner, then this card could be saying that we need to use this watery energy to do the same for our dreams.

As much as we want to grow and develop our dreams, we still need to protect them from sabotage, which could take any form and come from any direction.

What in particular do we need to finish doing before starting to make progress towards our dreams?

Handfasting - Union

Usually, a union would mean coming together and joining forces with at least one other person because everyone has the same goal.

However, sometimes working in a group isn't always appropriate so separating ouselves from this group mentality can help to free us from the energetic constraints of working together.

There are times when dreams or projects needs to be kept private so that nothing stops them from being achieved.

Remember the phrase: "Too many cooks in the kitchen" because it's all about too many people getting involved at once.

What guidance do we most need right now to inspire action towards our dreams?

Watchtower of the North - Winter

Winter is the season for preparing and getting ready for the new beginning that accompanies Spring. So we can always plan and put together a list of actions that will lead us toward our dreams.

With Winter being associated with North, there's a connection to the element of Earth so this card may be advising us to get grounded and to put down deep roots for our dreams so that they can grow without the potential of being upended by anyone or anything that happens.

With this in mind, perhaps the message is that we need to do some reviewing before we get grounded with our dreams.

It's interesting that this reading started with the Watchtower in the East and ended with the North because this is how the directions, quarters, elements or cardinals would be called in within a lot of magickal practices: starting with the East, moving around a compass clockwise. (At least, this is what I personally have experienced.) So every possible ally, entity, deity, useful and positive spirit is being called in to assist us right now with how we can achieve our dreams.
