Be A Goddess: Lesson Fourteen

Merry Meet and welcome to you magickal souls!!!!

It's time to share my thoughts on the Fourteenth Lesson from Francesca De Grandis' book, "Be A Goddess" which is titled "Everywhere You Go, There Is Power to Be Had".

According to Francesca, the goal of a Witch is to control all of their situations. Apparently, this is because true power and control is cooperative in the sense that everyone and everything helps everyone (and everything) else. Power and control are mutual but not exclusive.

Using herbs, candles and incense are just a few ways to control a space, especially at home, without interfering with Free Will. These are methods I use myself as I do believe that any area can be made more how you want it. Herbs, candles and incense have unique physical properties that are visible, but they have psychic ones too. These are details, colours and scents, that can have an influence on a sub- or un-concious level.

Francesca does go on to provide some ideas for ways to use herbs, candles and incense. I didn't explore these right away but at least I have another source of inspiration.

According to Francesca, magick is trained into a Witch's being if it is practiced often enough until things start happening automatically on an unconscious level. I don't agree with this because I don't believe that magick needs to happen that frequently. I have gone months without doing a spell because I didn't feel the need to do them, but I was still a Witch in that time.

There's also the idea that any spell someone else does is okay to take inspiration from if we feel like it'snot fully the right thing to do for our own individual purposes. This is because no two Witches are the same and therefore won't necessarily cast the exact same spells. We are all meant to make mistakes as that is one way of learning what to do and what not to do when it comes to spells, just like as in life.

Francesca explored the idea that the simplest spells can hold lots of power, perhaps more than we expect. I've learned this. I did a spell for a friend and threw everything possible at it, but it wasn't successful. However, when I do more simple spells, I find that they are far more successful on a more regular basis.

Francesca also provided the idea that anything can be a ritual, especially when it is a direct means to an end. The point of magick is not to wave a magic wand but to find an effective and suitable way to manage the energy of any situation.

Mundane items can also be used to help with spells and rituals. It's a bit like helping someone else (especially a stranger) with housework and/or chores, not littering, or donating to good causes. All of these can be a part of an individual journey or part of a religious framework.

This book, "Be A Goddess", and even faerie magick is simple and meant to train readers in ow to perceive, use and move present energy. However, simple does not necessarily mean easy.

It is very easy to be tempted to look only for confirming signs rather than what is real. This is because we can become focused on the ethereal and forgetting about the mundane. I can attest that this is a fairly common question that is asked but I do personally try to bring up the more mundane things.

This was another thought-provoking Lesson about power, using it, how to use it and everything in between.

I hope my eperience has inspired you to acquire your own copy if you don't already have one.

Peace and love to all!!!!
