Merry Meet and Welcome to you magickal souls!!!!
It is time to consider the next effects of the next planet to go retrograde this calendar year which is Neptune. The retrograde will move from just within the sign of Aries backwards into the sign of Pisces, and this will occur between 4th July and 10th December, so essentially for the rest of the year.
This retrograde, along with others, is likely to be more deeply and internally felt as opposed to externally experienced. That's because Neptune is one of the outer planets and affects us generationally since Neptune's orbit of the Sun takes 165 years and therefore spends about 14 years in each sign, so those born close together will have similar placements of Neptune within their natal/birth charts.
Neptune is the planet of dreams, empathy, spirituality, creativity, intuition, illusion, and all things psychic. So during this retrograde, we need to think about our personal dreams as well as more communal or collective ones. It may be that we need to be creative with how we approach our goals and dreams, but it could also be that we need to be aware that people may be creative with what they tell us about what they dream of achieving.
The energies of both Aries and Pisces mix and swirl together gently as Neptune is still in early Aries at just 2º and moves backwards into later Pisces ending at 29º. Aries is the first of the zodiac signs and is very much go-getting, make it no matter what kind of energy, while Pisces is more introspective as it is the last zodiac sign before the wheel turns back to Aries.
There's almost a warning included within the energies of Neptune about the dangers of illusions, ones that we want to lead to progress but that actually end up going backwards and becoming more emotional than progressive. So while this time might feel fraught with concerns and anxiety, it is only to ensure that our dreams, both personal and collective, are actually possible.
We are being asked to take the next five months to release the emotional burdens we no longer need to carry, and to forgive ourselves for doing this for so long, as well as connecting with our spirituality. There's also an element of removing the weight of illusion and finally seeing things for how they truly are, rather than how we want them to be. It is only once this has been achieved that we can move towards a truly magickal life.
With all of these energies swirling around for the next five months, here's a general collective reading around how we can navigate this time. It is curated towards this specific retrograde and uses the

Where do we need to be more realistic with our dreams?
Spring Equinox - Rebirth
This card is interesting because it suggests that we need to renew the energies we pour into our dreams.
We may be in denial about how achievable and realistic our dreams are. Dreams are always good to have but there comes a time when they need to be more than just castles in the air.
So this card is more about how the truth can truly set us free and allow us to grow in a new way, possibly even in a way that we hadn't considered before.
The Spring Equinox doesn't always see new life emerging but it is usually not very far away - perhaps this is what we need to know about our own dreams.

What illusions do we need to see through?
River - Movement
With this card, we are being shown that just because there are successful dreams on both banks where we are currently, it doesn't necessarily mean that this is the time and place for our dreams to be successful as well.
The River can be slow-moving at times, showing that our progress can also be more hidden, less visible to others who think they have the "greenest grass".
But the River can also move very fast, sweeping everything along with it to a destination that may not be of our choosing or it moves faster than we were expecting and takes us to our dreams more quickly than we intended. It's all about whether we have control or not.

How can we bring more progress to our dreams?
Rain - Purification
This card might seem confusing but it is advising us to get clarity on our dreams.
Sometimes we can try to add things to a particular dream, to the point where the original dream has been lost in the shadows of rainfall. (If you've never seen it, look out for rain that isn't where you are and see how the sky looks different where it is raining compared to where it isn't.)
We need to remember to purify our dreams, to keep them as simple as possible. Dreams can merge but when they start, they need to be clear so we have to wash them of the unnecessary additions we might add to them, thinking that they are helping us to make progress.

What burdens do we need to release to achieve our dreams?
Lotus Flower - Unfoldment
This card has a keyword of "Unfoldment" which could indicate that we need to release our need for control around when our dreams take their true shape and blossom for the world to see.
Just as we cannot force a flower to bloom before it is ready, so too we cannot force our dreams out into the world before they are fully formed.
We have to be patient and let our dreams be nourished and grow without interference.
Our dreams are very much like plants that can grow to be trees, but they cannot truly grow if we don't treat them gently, with care and give them space and time to grow.
It seems as if we are being told that progress is most likely only possible if we take a step back and enjoy the process of seeing our dreams bloom and grow. If we meddle too much, like by watering too often or moving our dreams around from one pot to another, then we disrupt their potential growth. We can still prune and keep to the essential parts of our dreams but there is a limit as to how much we need to do.
I hope this has been helpful and thought-provoking around this Neptune retrograde. If you'd like a more personal look at this time, my inbox and diary are open.
Peace and love to all!!!!
