Full Moon in Capricorn 2025

Merry Meet and Welcome to your magickal souls!!!!

It's time to think about the Full Moon in Capricorn, which will occur around 10th July depending on your timezone/location. This Full Moon occurs while the Sun is in the sign of Cancer which is usually between 21st June and 22nd July.

This Full Moon is a bit special because it's the first one after the Summer Solstice, which is a turning point from light and warmth to darkness and cold. So this Full Moon asks us to look at where we are in our lives because it comes along to help us wrap up the last loose threads from the past so we can step into the new future.

The Full Moon in Capricorn asks us to look at the long-term plans we have so that we can be guided towards what is real and lasting for us. This means that anything that isn't meant for our paths through life that won't serve us in the future is about to start falling away if this process hasn't started already.

This Capricorn process may mean that our emotions are high as we are forced to face up to whatever we have been struggling with, trying to avoid learning from, stubbornly trying to hold on to, hiding behind or from, or even just straight up avoiding dealing with in general. It's important that we delve into these feelings because they are the signposts that direct us towards a greater lasting sense of happiness.

As previously mentioned, the Sun is in the sign of Cancer so the Cancerian themes of feeling safe, protected, nurtured and loved are highlighted by the light of the Full Moon and mixed with the energy of Capricorn.

To some people, Cancer is the archetypal maternal feminine energy while Capricorn is the archetypal paternal masculine energy. This could be pertinent as the Capricorn energy could be coming to push us forward in our careers, lives, and/or even our purpose, the reason we were brought here to this life for.

So the Sun being in Cancer could help us to bring our emotions to the surface while the Moon in Capricorn could help us practically to make sense of these emotional waters we are trying to wade through. That makes this Full Moon the perfect time to turn our emotions into action.

To summarise, this Full Moon in Capricorn is the perfect opportunity to find a kind of practical clarity around our emotions, especially the ones that are showing up most at this time. This is also a great time to organise our lives so if we find ourselves clearing out wardrobes, cupboards, our homes, and/or our lives, know that it is time for us to let go of the things we no longer need over the next couple of weeks.

Additionally, Capricorn is also full of quite a confident kind of energy so if we have been doubting our abilities and skills, this is the time to notice them and also let the doubts go before the next New Moon. At the same time, Capricorn can also be more "glass half empty" so while we have the potential for success, there is a chance we may end up lacking in confidence and being more pessimistic about situations.

This is why I have curated the following collective reading for how the swirling energies can be made the most of. I used the Witches Wisdom Oracle deck by Barbara Mieklejohn-Free and Flavia Kate Peters to discern the wisdom that we most need to know right now.

How can we be more confident about our abilities and skills?

Candles - Magic

With this card, we are being told that confidence is like magic - all it takes is a bit of belief.

Magic and spells work because we believe that they do, and so too does confidence. If we believe in ourselves, then others will follow that belief and believe in us too.

Confidence is like the light of a candle: bright and unable to be ignored while it is lit, or hazy and unnoticeable when it has been snuffed out. It doesn't matter who or what snuffs out that light, but it does matter if we are strong enough to withstand the strongest breeze that attempts to put an end to our confidence. We know what we are good at.

In which area of our lives do we need to be more nurturing?

Broomstick - Clearance

With this card, we are being told to be more gentle when it comes to clearing our lives of the things we no longer need.

While this may be the perfect time to do some "summer cleaning", we shouldn't try to force ourselves to let go of things that we maybe aren't ready to say goodbye to. Just because we want to say goodbye to it doesn't mean that it is the right time to do so. Plus, we'll have plenty of other opportunities to clear out anything unnecessary in the future.

Sometimes just taking stock of the baggage we are carrying is enough of a task for "summer cleaning", so we can nurture ourselves until the time is right to let go.

Where in our lives do we need to get more organised?

Watchtower of the East - Spring

With this card, we are being shown that we need to get more organised when it comes to starting projects.

The direction of East is associated with the season of Spring because it's the time for beginnings, as new flowers start to grow and bloom and calves and lambs are born. It's when the earth has become warm enough to sustain growth and life but only with the assistance of preparing the earth.

That's what this card is showing us: that if we organise the beginnings in our lives then we are more likely to find success in later seasons. This is why livestock farmers and gardeners are busiest in the spring and into early summer.

What do we most need to let go of in our lives right now?

Familiar - Guardian

With this card, we are being told that we need to let go of the things that we are guarding, the things that are so familiar that we balk at the very idea of releasing them, and even the things that we believe are protecting memories and ideas of our lives. There is nothing stopping us from letting go of these things, apart from ourselves.

There are many beliefs around familiars and what they do, so perhaps we need to examine what we believe about familiar things and change our perspective so that we can easily release them when they become superfluous to our lives and we are ready to do so.

So this Full Moon in Capricorn comes to show us that confidence in itself is a kind of magic and that others will follow that belief in the end if we stop trying to dim our own light. We shouldn't try to force ourselves to cleanse our lives and homes of anything before it is the right time to do so. Clearing will allow us space to get organised so that our new starts and beginnings have a better chance of being successful in future seasons. In the meantime, we need to release the familiar, the things that we know so well that they have become almost like background details that we gloss over when we see them.

It appears as if this Full Moon in Capricorn is likely to land rather heavily but at the same time, it will do so out of love and a sense of nurturing (thanks to the Sun in Cancer). If you would like a more personal look at how this Full Moon is likely to impact you, my diary and inbox are open.

Peace and love to all!!!!
