The Cauldron of Wisdom: Tarot Edition

Merry Meet and Welcome to you magickal souls!!!!

Just a couple of weeks ago on 13th and 14th March, I attended another virtual conference hosted by Wise Woman Witchery. It was The Cauldron of Wisdom: Tarot Edition. By the title, it was all about tarot, how to read the cards, different spreads and how to apply them to doing readings.

There were nine live workshops across the two days, and anyone who paid to have lifetime access to the replays also received: six workshops, discounts from services by the teachers, and several workbooks/journals.

Day One:

The first workshop was called Ace's to Inspire and it was hosted by Halo Quin, who has led workshops in previous Conferences. Halo Quin had a calming energy that was helpful as they led a couple of activities to connect with just the four Aces: Swords, Wands, Coins, and Cups. This workshop really gave me some ideas for how I can better connect with all cards, not just the Aces, and how I can bring their energies into my life and magickal practices.

The second workshop was Protection & Cleansing Magick for Tarot Readings and it was run by Desirée Diaz. Desirée shared their own preferred methods of protection before doing any readings or magickal workings. They shared some herbs that could be used by anyone in any mix with the intention of protecting, as well as how to dress a candle (rolling a candle in herbs) with that same intention. It was interesting and then Desirée led an energy meditation.

The third workshop was called Tarot in the Kitchen and it was hosted by Lilith Dorsey, who has also led workshops in past Conferences. This was jam-packed with information. Lilith went through some of the Major Arcana cards, giving correspondences for herbs and other foodstuffs, as well as a few recipe ideas, that I could use to connect with tarot in my kitchen. I love food and appreciate any excuse to deepen my Craft with the help of food ingredients and recipes.

The fourth workshop was Intuitive Tarot and it was run by Emily Morrison, who is the creatrix behind Wise Woman Witchery. This was a very intensive workshop, that involved pulling lots of cards in a short amount of time to try and connect with them without referring to the guidebook. Perhaps because of how I pull cards (purely through shuffling and only the cards that jump out at me rather than laying the deck out and choosing with my hands/fingers), this wasn't an easy exercise for me personally but it was still an interesting workshop and I look forward to doing this again in the future.

The fifth and final workshop of the day was The Fool's Journey and it was hosted by Melissa St Hilaire, who is another returning teacher. This workshop focused on the Major Arcana and Melissa went through each of those cards before leading a meditation. There was an exercise for reading a particular spread meant to help understand my own path through the Fool's Journey. It was a great idea but I kind of wish there had been more time available to really go through the spread as I didn't fully understand it initially.

Day Two:

The first workshop was Storytelling with Tarot and it was run by That Witch Karena, who is yet another returning teacher. I always love to work with Karena and this workshop didn't disappoint me. Karena started by talking about how tarot can be used but then moved into intuitively connecting with the cards in order to write a story, whether personal or fictional. This connection was described as not just being through sight but also through where the card's energy was felt within the body or gut feeling. There was an interactive element where all attendees pulled cards for their own stories and my own cards related to my own personal life-story, which I wasn't expecting but I appreciated the messages the cards held.

The second workshop was Tarot Growth Cycles and it was hosted by My Tarot Lady Christine Michele, who was another returning teacher. This workshop held a lot of information as it focused on the various cycles that occur during a person's lifetime. I learned how to calculate where I was within those cycles and it was interesting to look at my current year as well as those where important events have happened in the past. Christine also detailed how I can work with those energies, which was intriguing.

The third, and penultimate, workshop was Calling on Tarot for Creativity & Inspiration and it was run by Irisanya Moon, who was the final returning teacher. Irisanya spoke about the Nine Muses of Ancient Greek Mythology, how to call on them and and how to work with them before moving on to how tarot could be used as a tool to go with that. Irisanya also mentioned that it's okay not to use tarot for a while as sometimes we do need a break from it. (From other personal eperiences, I can attest to this being true for any tool/hobby.) I definitely learned how to really trust myself and my intuition when I interpret my cards.

The fourth and final workshop (of the day and the whole Conference) was Working with Tarot Archetypes for Shadow Integration and it was hosted by Natalie Garcia. This was really interesting as Natalie delved into the concept that every single tarot card, Minor as well as Major Arcanas, holds an archetypal energy within it. Natalie gave some examples and then shared a spread that could be used to understand whichever archetype I might be called to work with.

All in all, it was an amazing weekend and I definitely learned how to better connect with the various aspects of tarot. I always enjoy being taught new information, or just re-affirming what I knew or believed already.

I hope I have piqued your interest in these Conferences with my personal experiences. If you'd like to attend a future virtual Conference hosted by Wise Woman Witchery, you can follow them on social media.

Peace and love to all!!!!
