Merry Meet and Welcome to you magickal souls!!!!
I know that at the beginning of the year, I wrote about one of the first times I made some of my own Florida Water and, even then, I knew this was something I would do again and that I would absolutely love adding it to my Craft. Well, I only went and made some more! It does have a different intention, as it should, and I wanted to share it with everyone.
So, this new version was inspired by a Hallowe'en jar decoration that I bought a few years ago and wanted to use but I didn't know how or what exactly for. However, thanks to Emily at Wise Woman Witchery and Emelina, I finally found a way to utilise it as a part of my Craft.
But there was a potential problem as it came with the sticker label, which I do love, so I had to sit and think about how the label could fit in to what I could use it for. This meant I had to do some research (using my kitchen library) and then get creative with what I was going to use in it.
During the workshop that Emelina ran back in October 2024, she did say that vodka wasn't the only liquid that could be used to make Florida Water because Witch Hazel, or Apple Cider Vinegar were potential alternatives. Just based on the name, I had to use the latter but it also ended up fitting into the intention I chose.
I do mention this in one of my YouTube videos but whenever I do spells, I either start with an intention before collecting everything that I want to use or I grab some items/herbs that I want to use before working out an intention based on what I feel like using. With this particular magick, I wanted a connection to Spiders without using any in it (again, that goes back to the label) so I thought about what Spiders represent to me that I could hold as an intention and I came up with Creativity.
I wanted this Spider Cider to be a spray I could use whenever I felt like I couldn't do any writing or YouTube videos for no reason at all. The desire for this is that sometimes I feel like I have writer's block or just a general creative block so I wanted to be able to use something to get me into the mindset of writing or doing a video.
So I went through my herbal notebook and wrote down a list of everything I had that was associated with creativity or something that could work alonside it in a helpful partnership. While my initial list had eleven flowers and herbs on it, I only ended up using 8 with one of those being an addition that I felt like using when I started looking through my collection of herbs. The ones I used and why were:
Rowan Berries for inspiration
Orange Slices (three of them) for abundance
Fennel Seeds for eloquence
Dandelion Root for inspiration
Eyebright for insight
Cinnamon Sticks (three, again) for creativity and an amplification of the energy
Jasmine Flower for creativity
Calendula for creativity

They were added to my "Florida Water" jar, which is the same jar I used for the Ancestral Water I made before, in the order I listed them and then I poured the Apple Cider Vinegar over them. The ACV was added to cleanse, purify and balance the various energies within the jar and eventually the Vinegar itself.
I wanted to give it 90 days rather than the 60 I've waited before because I wanted the connection to the number three, which I believe is the number best associated with the Triple Goddess, and because I had nine ingredients in this particular mix. It just seemed like the right time to wait if I'm being particularly honest.
When I first set this up, it was in the early hours of Friday 14th February 2025. The Moon had just 2 days before been Full in the sign of Leo but at that moment in time was actually in the sign of Virgo. The Moon's phases and the signs She was interacting with seemed to be important to me so I noted them on the label I put on the jar so I had a reference for it.
When I looked up the date for 90 days after 14th February, it came to be Thursday 15th May which occurs just after the Full Moon in Scorpio while the Moon is actually in the signs of Sagittarius and Capricorn.
I'm mentioning this because of some of the messages I received from the cards I pulled during the Prophecy: Becoming the Seer workshop I attended in December 2024. Namely, connecting more with the Moon and Her phases, and with Nature in general, and I think this is a really important theme for me this year so I wanted to consciously acknowledge it and show that I do try to live according to the advice I got from my cards.
Based on everything about the Moon, I will admit to struggling with taking up "enough" space for me, and being in the spotlight and/or centre-stage which I really should set a reminder for myself for whenever the Full Moon in Leo occurs as this is when I struggle the most. So perhaps this Spider Cider will help me get creative regarding those issues as well as with writing and YouTube. Virgo is a familiar energy to me as its very grounded and organised, as well as my Rising/Ascendant sign and my closest friend's Sun sign.
I feel like it's important that the Full Moon in Scorpio was the last lunar event this particular Florida Water got to experience before it was done, because the sign of Scorpio is about being defensive, perhaps too much so with the amplifying Full Moon energy. The fact that the Moon moves from Sagittarius into Capricorn on the day I planned to strain this Spider Cider was also important because the energy goes from optimistic and curious to ambitious and disciplined about achieving the chosen goal.
Having finished this particular brew of Florida Water, I can say that the Apple Cider Vinegar is a little overpowering but I'm still happy with how it turned out. It feels so full of motivation and creativity that I may end up having to use it sparingly. (Note to self: use a smaller jar next time!)
I hope this has helped to inspire you to make your own Florida Water.
Peace and love to all!!!!
